Hi All, This past weekend I was an AR for 9 games (a mix of u-19 and u-18). My Fellow AR's and CR's said I'm too quick to put up the off side flag and I blew two direction calls (one was a foul which I called but pointed in the wrong direction). The only feedback I got from a coach (which was...

Bouncing ball on hard field, keeper runs out to jump and get a hand on the ball. Jumps, misses the ball while forward does exatly the same and they collide mid air, no one gets ball because it bounced too high. Problem is they collided just outside the penalty area beacuse keeper's momemtum carried...

I am okay with your call based on the information provided assuming the collision was more than a trifling bump. 1) Since the collision was outside of the penalty area and the keeper was jumping to play the ball with his hand he is responsible for his momentum. If the keeper would have touched...

There is an adult rec league that recently formed in my area, and its participants are mostly spanish speakers. Good luck refereeing in that madness lol I did it for six months and, as soon as you blow the whistle, the players are already yelling at you for everything. In terms of giving advantage, just yell "siga" with your arms extended and everybody will understand it.

So I've been recruited to referee an unaffiliated futsal league this winter. I'm super happy because I live in Wisconsin, so the soccer off-season is more than six months long; by February, I'm usually starting to go insane! I've never reffed futsal, but I have seen it played quite a lot (used to...

Hello all, just wanted to share that I am reffing in State Cup this fall, in a few weekends to be exact, and since I am only 17 I was prepared for some u13 or 14s, with mostly lines or 4th officials, and was surprised to find that I have a u16 center and several u17 AR1s :woohoo: . So I had to step on as a Center yesterday on a U16B game where the assignor had placed a crew that consisted of a 67-year old retired Grade 16 (CR), a Grade 8 (AR1), and a brand-new-never-refereed-before Grade 9 (AR2) for the previous three games. Yes, that's right, the assignor had assigned the...

Missed hearing it, that is. First game for me since November was a U13 Boys Premier League game as AR2. Lots of rust to shake off, it was a fast-moving game and I started ball watching rather than sticking with the 2LD. Then in first half stoppage the home team gets a 2 man breakaway against the...

So this past weekend was the season-opening tournament here in AZ (Desert Elite Inaugural Cup). For instance, a U12 field becoming 80 x 40 yards due to size issues or the Region using U10 goals at U12. FIFA allows AYSO to adopt the modified rules on ball, field size, goal size etc. but not...

At this level, some of them require you to briefly explain what they did wrong. (Even if they don't, it's generally a good idea.) Also make sure you...
